It is assumed that characters can get or trade for basic equipment in between events without cost. You may have your character start an event with whatever armour you decide and with whatever reasonable loadout of weapons you decide, along with any other relevant equipment, such as wrenches, surgeon’s tools, runecaster’s paper, or pouches for carrying loot. Any items that have a chance of being in combat should be safe for LARP combat. Real knives should specifically never be used as part of character equipment.
Various methods for enhancing a person exist to make them better at dealing with the rigours of a Seeker’s lifestyle, and the Guild uses most of them to good effect.
Technology
Technology - with a capital letter - refers to the advanced equipment that can be produced by the art of Tinkering. Each character can use one piece of Technology at a time in addition to their mundane equipment. This represents the ability to maintain it and ensure that it’s triggered at the right time, and so on. Characters who invest into Tinkering can gain traits that allow them to use more Technology.
Alchemy
Flotilla has a number of skilled alchemists who produce a variety of elixirs and other alchemical items. These are impossible to slip into someone’s drink, etc; this is not something that is intended to be part of the game and you should not attempt it IC or OC. They must be consumed immediately after unsealing them, a process which takes at least 5 seconds. Feeding an alchemical item to a willing character likewise takes 5 seconds.
Alchemical items come in the form of powders which are usually stored in paper sachets. These are represented by paper item cards.
Elixirs are a special kind of alchemical item, having ongoing effects. A character can be under the effect of one Alchemical Elixir at a time, unless they have the Iron Stomach Trait or similar. If you take another Elixir while the previous is still in effect, they will react with each other with unpredictable effects - you become incapacitated, and should inform a ref. Note that some Alchemical items are not Elixirs, and can therefore be used at the same time.
Runecast Auras
Runecasters can create Auras around a character, enchanting them to make them stronger. Each character can be under the effect of one Runecast Aura at a time. If another Aura is cast on you, you lose the effects of the oldest Aura on you.
